Technical Knowledge:
Brightness The brightness of a LCD monitor is indicated in cd/m2. An LCD monitor has an average brightness above 200 cd/m2.
Contrast The contrast ratio indicated the number of grey values displayed. The higher the contrast, the more grey values there are. A higher number of grey values also implies that the monitor displays a wider range of colours, and consequently more colour nuances are visible.
Response time The time required by the LCD screen to activate and then completely deactivate a pixel. This is translated into the amount of images shown per second. If the rise/fall time is equal to 35ms = 28,6 images per second can be shown. For comparison: in a cinema a movies is represented by 24 images per second.
VEST VEST is a standardized system of measurements for the attachment of monitors to arms/ walls.
Signal Input If the signal input is analogue, a D-sub 15pin is always used. DVI stands for Digital Video Interface, which guarantees perfect image reproduction. However, DVI requires a special graphics card that emits DVI-I or DVI-D signals. If a monitor has a DVI-D input, this can only be used for digital signals. A DVI -I can also be used for analogue signals. |
